Chemistry Team Leader – Custom Synthesis & FTE/Contract
Matthew Stent joined Key Organics in 2005 as a synthetic chemist and worked across all product sectors, including production of catalogue compounds, time-critical & complex custom synthesis and FTE (contract) chemistry.
Matthew has held the position of Chemistry Team Leader since mid-2008; he was responsible for the New Product Development section for two years, overseeing development of new product lines and expansion of our catalogue through collaborations and procurement and is now charged with managing all aspects of KOCAS Custom Synthesis and FTEs, including communication, operations and support.
Matthew is a graduate of the University of Bristol (1999), obtained his D.Phil. from the University of Oxford (2002), where he worked under the supervision of Prof. David Hodgson on the development and application of new synthetic methodology, especially asymmetric desymmetrisation of epoxides, and spent two years (2003-4) in Prof. Phil Magnus's group in Austin, Texas, carrying out post-doctoral research towards the total synthesis of the rocaglamides.
